Maria was selected from 700 entries to receive one of seven commissions for Ignition Choreographer’s Platform, produced by DanceWest and the Royal Borough of Kingston. Her 12-minute piece, ‘The Tainted Hero’, is danced by Paaliba Abugre and Celia Francis. It follows a Heracles on a journey, under the malevolent gaze of Hera.
